Amazon Reportedly Sourcing Foxconn For Android Tablet

According to rumors floating around the Internet today, Amazon is reportedly utilizing Foxconn to build an Android-powered, Amazon-branded tablet worthy of global domination. Foxconn, as you may be aware, is one of Apple’s leading partners set to manufacture 38-40 million iPads and around 80 million iPhones in this year alone.

This wouldn’t be the first time that Amazon and Foxconn have cooked up something beautiful however, the manufacturer is set to produce over 12 million Kindles this year and has worked well with Amazon previously. Neither Foxconn nor Amazon have issued any formal statement, but the rumors do seem to add up.

We’ve previously heard that the Amazon tablet will be ready for the 2011 holiday season, but this time around the rumors seem to indicate a 2012 release.
