Apple Looking To Stop Sales of Galaxy Nexus

Apple has filed a complaint in a California court claiming that Samsung has violated four of Apple’s patents. The complaint asks the court to block the sales of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. In reality, this is not about the Galaxy Nexus, but more so about Android 4.0.

To sum up the complaint, Apple is claiming Samsung is violating patents for:

  • Slide to unlock
  • Patent related to search multiple sources of information
  • Detection of small bits of information, such as a phone number within an email
  • Suggesting spelling for misspelled words

Apple failed in this court last December, but you know how these things go. It’s a constant volley of patent lawsuits that certainly doesn’t help consumers.

They have been doing the lawsuit thing for quite some time, not just recently. Seems to be a part of their culture.
