No, the Droid X ships with Android 2.1. Motorola expects to release an Android 2.2 software update for the Droid X sometime before mid-September 2010.
What’s better, the Droid 2 or the Droid X?
Neither. It’s a matter of personal preference. If you enjoy a physical keyboard, then go for the Droid 2. If not, it’s hard to argue with the beauty of the Droid X.
Is there root access for the Droid X and can I run custom ROM’s?
At the time of this article, no one has released directions on obtaining root access on the Droid X. Until that’s released, you will not be able to run custom ROM’s.
