The official Twitter application for Android is about to receive a major UI overhaul. Twitter for Android 2.0 is a completely new user interface, with an emphasis on speed. The new app allows you to easily select from you timeline, @ mentions, DM’s and other options that include favorites and lists. Tweeting also receives an update. The interface looks more like the web based “new” Twitter and it’s a major departure from the current app. No word on when this will be available in the Market.

When I tried the official Twitter app when it first came out, the notification LED on my Motorola Milestone was not working with this app. Is this fixed with 2.0 or does the app still only support a flashing trackball?
I hope they got rid of the ‘dashboard’ screen. All it did was add an extra click between opening the app and getting to my feed.

This app looks like blackberry app. i have been using tweetdeck and it works awsome. i will stick to it.
