I'm currently strapped down to a Nokia 6205 (Dark Knight Edition) clamshell, but come October I will have my grubby little paws on a DROID INCREDIBLE. I cannot put into words just how excited I am to own my first smartphone (and a Droid one to boot.) I'm not unfamiliar with touch screens though, I own a iPod Touch that I've been using for about a year now. I went into a local Verizon store and looked at the phones, I at first picked up the original Driod, and saw it had a slide out keyboard. As someone with awkward fingers when it comes to phone keyboards (My mum owns the LG Envy Touch, and often asks me to text for her while she's driving, it's no easy task to navigate that tiny keyboard.) so, I put that Droid down and picked up the Incredible, and let me tell you guys, it was like one of those harmonizing choruses of "ahhhhh!" This was the phone, similar in style to what I'm used to with my iPod, and is an entirely touch-orientated phone.

I'm just a little worried about the battery life everyone seems to be clamoring about. I don't think I'll be using the web browser much but will be using Facebook and Twitter apps a lot (I know, I know! typical young person!!) would that be a damper on battery life? Like I stated earlier, this is my first smartphone, I'm coming from years of using flip-phones and text messaging only. This is opening a whole new world to me, and I'm excited to jump in with two feet after staring in ENVY at friends and family's Blackberries.

    welcome to eA!!

by the time October rolls around there will be so many more devices out there, the Droid X just came out today, and the Droid 2 will be coming out shortly. I have the incredible and love it, i am not knocking it but if you have to wait until October, you should definitely see whats out there when that time comes.

battery life on mine is alright, i did get an extended battery, but again, it all depends on how much you use the device, i dont use it all that much when at work so its really not an issue for me during the day, but when i travel for work i get my moneys worth.

you will enjoy whatever android phone you get.

I like n99hockey am familier with the battery life on the phone. Typically I get a days worth of charge out of it which is somewhat disheartning, but at the same time for what this device has done with me I am greatly impressed. Im sure with the available root for the Incredible, devs will start pushing out roms soon for this phone, how this relates is that some roms that Ive used in the past (TouchPro) have actually improved the battery life on the phone. Im glad you could join us here, and if theres anything you need feel free to ask away :)

Thanks! I appreciate it. I definitely will probably be asking lots of questions once I get the phone until I find my feet. -laughs- I'm sure I'll do fine with the help of all the nice folks here though. :)
