Devour How to get functionality out of a disabled Motorola Devour?

    My friend is selling his Motorola Devour and he disconnected from the Verizon Network. I would consider buying but he said everything is disabled, is there a way to get around this without having to sign up for some service plan? I just want to be able to access Wi-Fi and use features on it. So I was wondering is there a way to get around Verizons sneaky disabled thing and use the phone with just its features?

    Me either. What does he mean "its disconnected and disabled"? He no longer has VZW service? How did they disable it? Did he do some hack to get free Wifi or soemthing?:>
