My Eris usually only rings 3 times before going to voice mail. I know it's a really small computer but sometimes I need it to act like a phone. I changed the slot cycle from 2 to 0 so it would ping the tower every second instead of every 5 seconds. No joy. Then I read that Verizon can change the length of time the phone pretends to ring from 20 seconds to 35. You have to escalate the support call and will be told that Verizon doesn't do that anymore but they will change it for you. Why do we have to beat up the phone companies to make our phones work?!

have you done a *228 update? Basically it update the roaming capabilities of your phone...you might also check on doing a PRL update.

Verizon told me I needed to do a *228 update so I did. I rarely go more than 5 miles from home so I don't think that was the problem.
