If this has already been covered I apologize, but I'm not one who needs everything synced to my PC...so why is it I need to sign in to my Gmail for certain apps - calendar, Marketplace, etc??

I'm afraid doing this will all of a sudden send all my Gmail to my phone which I don't want. I like keeping it separate. Any ideas?

    A couple thoughts:
    - Get a "dummy" GMail account to use for the phone
    - Try uninstalling the GMail application from the phone using a 3rd party uninstall application (like Quick Uninstall)
    - Let it get your GMail on your phone, but turn off all notifications about it through the application settings

Ah ok good to know. But if I uninstall the Gmail app...won't it keep asking me to login to one whenever I click on Calendar/Marketplace?
