Google sending out fresh invites to App Inventor

App Inventor

Finally some more information on the web-based tool we (I) have all been drooling over. Back in July, when we introduced the inventor, we were left a bit short with information regarding timing. Google is in the midst of sending out a round of beta invites for its App Inventor. This is a significant feat as until now there hasn’t been a “wave” of invites sent, more so a handpicking. If you didn’t click the link above (that was cleverly weaved in), the program operates through a web browser and a downloadable Java file. The main reason this application is so significant is that it requires no previous knowledge to execute an application. There is no coding whatsoever. Google came up with a very unique idea, which was initially developed by MIT students, to use interconnecting blocks in order to create the back-end of the application.

How long ago did you sign up? Did you receive your invite? If so, please let us know your thoughts and opinions.

    Sorry to steal first comment,

If anyone does have an invite, feel free to post here. Also if you would like to get into contact with me, please say so. We could possibly create a story, your name involved (and a link to your site or blog, if you want).
