How to/HELP: recover pictures

Thanks to Webst3r, there is now an extremely valuable guide to recover deleted or missing pictures from your Android device! So in case your friend thinks it’s funny to delete your pictures, or if your ROM decides you don’t want them, follow the instructions that follow.

Before we start, you need to download Recuva, a free program (you can pay for support, it’s not needed for download).

1. Download and install the Recuva software.
2. Plug in your phone and set it to “USB Mass Storage” mode.
3. Open Recuva and cancel out of the wizard.
4. Pull down the first drop box and select your SD card.
5. Pull down the second drop box and choose “pictures”.
6. Go into the options menu and select “Tree mode.”

7. Hit “Scan” and allow Recuva to discover your files.
8. If you do not need the entire card use the thumbnail view or list view.
9. Click “Recover.”
10. It will ask where you want to recover to.

11. Let it work its magic and start breathing again.

We here over at EverythingAndroid, hope you never have to use this tutorial. But know that it is in your arsenal. My advice: bookmark, print, or commit this guide to memory. Let us know if it works for you (heaven forbid you need to use it).
