Barnes and Noble have launched their e-reader program into the Android market, bringing all your favorite ebooks onto your screen. Nook for Android does all the things you’d expect from an ebook app: shopping from your phone, syncing of purchases and your bookmarks with your nook, multiple fonts and sizes, nook’s book weird sharing system.
The app requires Android 1.6, and is a free download.
The service doesn’t support newspapers or magazines yet, so hopefully we’ll see that feature rolled out in the near future.
Amazon’s Kindle app has been available for the Android for some time now, and offers a very similar set of features. There are some differences in which books are available, but unless you have the company’s accompanying e-ink device, it’s much over muchness.
