Official: Android 2.2 Froyo Update Now Available for Nexus One

After a myriad of leaks, we are pleased to say that Google has announced the official release of Android 2.2 for the Nexus One. Android 2.2 or as it’s called ‘Froyo’ will be available starting today as an OTA (Over the air) update. For those keeping score at home, the official build is FRF85. Check your phone’s notification bar and you should see a message regarding the update being available. Check out the video below for an overview of what you can expect from your Nexus One after installing Froyo. Simply put, if you own a Nexus One, you want this update now!

    As an FYI, I haven’t seen the update hit my Nexus One yet this morning. I’ve got a stock N1 for AT&T. Selecting System>About Phone> System Updates didn’t inform me of the new update. Looks like it’s going to be a staggered rollout.
