Aurora Feint, who got in early on the world of social gaming for iOS, have released a gaming client that allows Apple’s devices and Android phones to play together nicely. Called OpenFeint Playtime, it will allow real time multiplayer, voice-chat, lobbies, matchmaking, and servers.
These guys have been doing social gaming networks on the iPhone for some time, and have a boatload of experience in the field, so if anyone can do it, they can. I’m just terrified about the prospect of voice-chat. You think the smack talk is bad on XBox Live? Try it against some punk 14 year old with an iPod Touch and nothing going on after school.
