The upcoming Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 will be available in the US starting on April 22nd. It will be priced at an extremely affordable $249, just $50 more then the Amazon Kindle Fire. The Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 will also come with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, so that’s certainly an advantage out of the gate.
As for specifications, this is a 7-inch tablet with a 1Ghz dual-core TI OMAP 4430 processor and 1GB of RAM. It features only 8GB of storage space, but that’s understandable given the low price point. This is easily expandable with support up to 32GB via the microSD card slot.
TechCrunch was able to get an early preview and found it lighter and more capable then the Kindle Fire. At only $50 more, sounds like the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 is a good choice for someone in the market for a smallish entry-level tablet.
