Motorola Rokr
The Motorola Rokr is a line of mobile phones from Motorola, Inc. They were first developed in 2003 and released in 2004. The Rokr models were released as a successor to the popular Motorola Razr line of phones. The Rokr line includes the E1, the E2, the W6, the W7, and the Z6m.
The Motorola Rokr E1 was the first phone in the line. It was released in September of 2004. The phone was notable for its inclusion of the iTunes Music Player, which was a first for a mobile phone. The phone had a maximum storage capacity of 100 songs. The phone also had a 1.3 megapixel camera, a microSD card slot, and Bluetooth connectivity.
The Motorola Rokr E2 was released in July of 2005. It improved upon the storage capacity of the E1, with a maximum of 500 songs. It also had a higher resolution camera, at 2 megapixels. The phone retained the same microSD card slot and Bluetooth connectivity of the E1.
The Motorola Rokr W6 was released in July of 2006. It was a significant departure from the earlier Rokr models, as it was a clamshell phone rather than a candybar phone. The W6 also had expanded multimedia capabilities, with a builtin FM radio, a 2 megapixel camera, and support for up to 4 GB of storage via microSD cards. The phone also had Bluetooth connectivity.
The Motorola Rokr W7 was released in October of 2007. It was similar to the W6, but with a few key differences. The W7 had a higher resolution camera, at 3.2 megapixels. It also had more builtin storage, at 8 GB. The phone retained the same microSD card slot, FM radio, and Bluetooth connectivity of the W6.
The Motorola Rokr Z6m was released in February of 2008. It was a candybar phone, like the earlier E1 and E2 models. The Z6m had a 2.8 inch display, a 3.2 megapixel camera, and support for up to 8 GB of storage via microSD cards. The phone also had Bluetooth connectivity.
